Ken's Cross Country

Ken Heins recently reacquired his original 1978 Cross Country Liquifire, Serial #
J340G080856M.  It was purchased new in the fall of '77, raced that winter (pictured above), and sold during the summer of '78.

These pictures are as it looks today. It is rough, but
Ken expected worse after all these years, and 6 different owners. All of
the modifications/reinforcements that he and his mechanic had done in the fall of 1977,
prior to racing this sled, are still intact. It has the original
suspension still modified, the original Yokahama track (AM 54366)
minus a few studs that they had installed. It has the original skis that
he reinforced and it still has the full carbide wear bars and they are
basically in good condition, except for one, that has about 3/4" of
carbide missing.

The original motor is with it, and a little
bit of blue paint is still visible on the head bolts from tech inspection.

The hood has a few cracks, none of
which can't be repaired. It still has Ken's last name and his mechanic's
last name, the ICCSF number (108), and the sponsor's hometown (Cissna Park,
IL). The business name (Triangle Farm Supply) is missing, and the seat has
completely disappeared.

This sled will undergo a complete restoration, and we will bring you more pictures as the process goes on.
