

The
JD Sled Riders of
Horicon are proud to present the first John Deere Snowmobile
Horicon
Reunion Show on Friday, February 20th 2009. The
event
will take place from 9:00-5:00 at the Union Hall and
The day will include a judged John Deere only
snowmobile
exhibit with trophies for individual classes to be handed out at
1:30pm. There
will also be an indoor display of snowmobiles and memorabilia including
many of
the rarest factory race sleds Deere made.
Many of the original members of Enduro Team Deere race team have
been
invited along with factory engineers involved with the snowmobile
program that
spanned from 1972 to 1984.
This event is open to the public, and all admission and
registration is FREE!
Anyone
is welcome to display a John Deere snowmobile in the show, or ride on
the Horicon Marsh.
WI
Snowmobile Registration: We will have a course marked out
where you can
ride without registering your sled in the state of WI, only on the day
of the event. If you do
wish to ride off the course, you do need to register at either the DNR
office or hardware store listed on the map below.
The following is a guideline for entering and
judging
snowmobiles registered in the show portion of the 2009 Horicon
a) Best Survivor (All years)
b) 1972-1978 Trail Original
c) 1972-1978 Trail Restored
d) 1979-1984 Trail Original
e) 1979-1984 Trail Restored
f) Best Racer
g) Peoples Choice
2) Definitions
a) Survivor (All years): A snowmobile that is in 100% original condition, as sold by the dealership. All parts, paint, decals, seat, etc must be original. NOS parts are not permitted. Excessive cleaning & polishing is not permitted. Repairs and maintenance work to keep the machine in running condition are permitted.
b) 1972-1978 Trail Original: A snowmobile that is in mostly original condition. NOS or aftermarket replacement parts, a recovered seat, and fresh paint on the skis, exhaust, suspension, or touch-up of running boards is permitted. Fresh paint on the tunnel or hood, new decals, polishing, or re-chroming is not permitted.
c) 1972-1978 Trail Restored: A snowmobile that has been restored to as good as or better then new showroom condition. Any work can be done.
d) 1979-1984 Trail Original: See original definition above.
e) 1979-1984 Trail Restored: See restored definition above.
f) Racer: Can be original or restored, and includes the limited edition snowmobiles including the 295/S, 340/S, Liquidator, and Cross-Country Liquifire. It can also include any model that has been modified to race. Accuracy is less important in this class, due to the modifications.

People’s Choice: The best
or favorite
snowmobile overall, as voted on by the other participants in the show. Every person who registers for the show will
receive a piece of paper, on which they will be able to write the
number of the
snowmobile he/she feels should receive this award, and place it in the
designated box.
